She will be recognized alongside fellow honorees at the Smart Women Breakfast on July 10 and featured in the July edition of Smart Business magazine.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an incredible honor to be recognized among so many inspiring women,鈥 said Dr. Moore. 鈥淭his award reflects not just my journey but also my students, colleagues, and community partners who are working to improve access to behavioral health care.鈥澨

Dr. Moore鈥檚 selection for this prestigious award reflects her remarkable journey from practitioner to academic leader and changemaker in the behavioral health field. A 2001 graduate of John Carroll, Dr. Moore returned to her alma mater as a visiting professor before becoming a full-time faculty member in 2015. Today, she leads both the Counseling Department at JCU and Moore Counseling & Mediation Services (MCMS) as President and CEO.

Driven by a mission to expand access and opportunity, Dr. Moore has spearheaded innovations in counselor training and workforce development. She established JCU鈥檚 Substance Use Disorder (SUD) concentration and created a pathway for students to earn dual licensure in mental health and substance use disorder treatment, addressing urgent needs during the opioid epidemic.听

Her advocacy also brought in more than $800,000 in state grants from the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), which funded fellowships and paid internships for over 80 students, many of whom now serve Ohio鈥檚 most underserved populations.

When the COVID-19 pandemic amplified mental health needs, Dr. Moore led the launch of JCU鈥檚 online Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, dramatically expanding reach and enrollment. She also formed strategic partnerships with local agencies to offer students paid internships and practical training.

In 2023, Dr. Moore organized JCU鈥檚 first counseling conference in Vietnam, with plans to return in 2025 to lead students in a global service-learning experience.

Her leadership, vision, and impact on students and communities have left a lasting legacy at 黑料大事 and in the broader behavioral health landscape. The University celebrates this well-earned recognition of Dr. Moore鈥檚 commitment to creating lasting change.
