First Year Application Process

Apply as a first year student if you are currently in high school (regardless of any college credits earned during high school) or if you have already graduated but have not enrolled in a college, university, or any other post-secondary institution since graduation.

Graduate Application Process

Graduate students are those who have earned a bachelor’s degree and are ready to dive deeper into a specific field by pursuing a master's degree or advanced certificate. Whether you’re pursuing advanced studies or leveraging a graduate degree to accelerate your career, JCU will help you take the next step with confidence.

Transfer students are those who have previously earned a high school diploma or equivalent and who have attended an accredited college, university, or community college after high school.

In order to transfer to JCU, you must be in good standing at the institution you are currently enrolled in.

International Application Process

International students are applicants who are neither citizens nor permanent residents of the United States.

Veteran Application Process

At John Carroll, we’re proud to support those who have served. Our Veteran Services team helps you navigate the application process, maximize your GI Bill® and military benefits, and transition smoothly into college life.

Readmission Application Process

If you’ve previously attended John Carroll but have been away for a semester or longer without a current leave of absence on file, you’ll need to apply for readmission to return to JCU.

Visiting Student Application Process

Visiting students include current undergraduate students enrolled at another college or university who intend to return to their home institution, current high school students seeking to take undergraduate courses at JCU prior to graduation, and undergraduate non-degree seeking students who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree.
